The wide body 767 United from Venice to Newark was really far too low last week on his RNAV29 then visual approach on Runway 29 (only 2050m long). The consequence was hitting a light pole that felt on the truck (recorded on the driver's cam) but worse could have happen.

Last segment visual approaches with a last turn close to the runway are always tricky.

The European Commission has taken a bold step (for which it deserves praise) by removing the "Follow us on X" link from its website and replacing it with "Mastodon"
A democratic resistance to the numerous attempts at destabilization originating from the X network and Musk's extremism

Mastodon is a federated technology as Element/Matrix reducing the risk of power and influence abuse

Follow them https://ec.social-network.europa.eu/@EU_Commission (@EUCommission)

And my account @cpot

Excited to announce that the @EUCommission has updated it's follow buttons on the website footer!
What's that first platform there? Could that be #Mastodon?
And where did the link to #X go?
All the posts and comments here on Mastodon calling for this, trust me we read them!

What if digital sovereignty was a strategic decision—not a constraint?

No control over your data = no control over your risks or choices.

Take back control → gain security, resilience, and freedom.

GoFAST offers an Open Source Digital Workplace & DMS, on-premise or sovereign cloud.

Huge improvement but to be fair on different Firefox release "Anthropic’s Opus 4.6 model found only 22 security-sensitive bugs when analyzing Firefox 148 last month."

Russia has shut down VPN servers before, but only sporadically. Officials now reportedly plan to use the tactic at full scale, "cranking it up to the max," making it their main instrument of internet censorship. Even VPN subscriptions paid in advance wouldn't be safe. https://meduza.io/en/news/2026/04/20/report-russia-plans-major-expansion-of-server-shutdowns-targeting-vpn-infrastructure
