One nice thing about leaving the corporate tech world and working for myself?

I'm finally allowed to grow older and have gray hair.

No more worrying about looking "too old" for the job, being the victim of ageism, or dyeing my hair to get through an interview.

Screw that. I have so many friends who still do it, but I'm happy to leave it all behind.

Funny how different my resting heart rate is ever since I left the corporate world

If you can…
Do

Inaction leads to regret

Go for a run
Lift weights
Take that trip
Fall in love
Call a friend
Visit a loved one
Write that book
Make music
Sing

Don't let lethargy ruin you
Don't let fear stop you
Don't let life
Pass you by

I enjoy working.

I really do!

I just don't enjoy working for someone else.

If you find yourself eventually feeling frustrated in every job β€” even when things start out well β€” it might be time to accept that you will never be happy working for someone else.

Working for yourself can be hard and scary at times. But for people like us, it's way better than being eternally frustrated working for someone else.

Always be looking for your next opportunity.

Always.

You can stay with your employer if you find out you're still in the right place.

But, take a better offer when it's clear it's time to leave.
