For the past 30 years, the headline "Has [ExperimentX] Discovered New Physics?" has been followed by the quieter headline, "No."

In case you're wondering, there's a strong selection effect that makes it difficult to observe meteorite strikes near the lunar poles.

Meanwhile, the European NELIOTA program is monitoring lunar impacts from Earth, and has already logged 207 confirmed strikes.

The Artemis II crew observed six impact flashes from meteorites striking the Moon! The impacts appeared near the equatorial region & were most clearly seen while the Moon was eclipsing the Sun.

No photos, unfortunately: The flashes happened too quickly.

Among Orbán's many corrosive effects in Hungary, he politically strangled universities and research funding. His defeat offers the possibility of a better, more open future for Hungarian science.

SR-1 will use bits of the "power and propulsion element" designed for the canceled Lunar Gateway. Primary development will be done in-house.

Now let's get NASA's budget restored so it can carry out other great missions, including exploration of Venus & seeking habitable worlds.

We have more details about NASA's planned Space Reactor-1, which will test nuclear-electric propulsion technology to travel to Mars.

It will carry three Mars helicopters that will land via a novel "skyfall" technique. Science instruments on SR-1 are planned but TBD.

What could we be getting wrong?

Maybe we live in an atypical corner of the cosmos, giving us a misleading view.
Maybe we're missing something fundamental about the early evolution of the universe.

Either answer has huge implications.

A new study confirms the "Hubble tension": measurements of the local expansion of the universe do not line up with measurements of how the universe was expanding after the Big Bang.

It's no simple experimental error. 11 different techniques agree.
