Read about French film director Mathieu Kassovitz speaking at a recent pro-ai event in Cannes fully embracing and pushing ai and saying all actors will be replaced by ai in a few years.

Then, talking about copyright he says 'f*** copyright' . ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿคจ

This year for earth day, don't use AI.

Follower count has still not changed even though I signed out and back in again.
Awful to hear about the latest seismic activity registered off northeast coast of Japan, with possible tsunami to follow. People have been warned to evacuate coastal areas of nprth east and Hokkaido. Hope all stay safe. 15 years after the last devastating tsunami some areas are still recovering from.
If you are unfollowed ot when you block users on mastodon who have been following you, your follower count should change, no? It hasn't changed this time after blocking double users this week and I've also noticed that before when blocking or being unfollowed. A glitch?

Two accounts seemingly run by the one Canadian translator (apparently a translator anyway) have now been blocked. I had asked her if the new one was hers and she did not reply (when it seems she is otherwise active on her first account ... rude) so.... bye bye!

I don't have time for people like that on social media so a decluttering drive (I'm in the middle of one now - very liberating) will sometimes extend to people on social media, including fellow language professionals.

Maybe their account has been mimicked, or cloned in some way - let's hope not - but if not I really do not get why people create more than one account on Mastodon and follow the same people, when they do not even engage from their first account.

That kind of carry on is neither nice nor professional (of translators).

Mastodon is meant to be an improvement on x, formerly known as Tw1tter. Let's not wierd people out.

I'm decluttering college notes. I don't know why I am keeping notes from my translation MA but I have managed to whittle down my main MA notes from 3 folders into 1, to be reassessed later. Glad to be rid of them. Next!

I did the same wirh BA notes earlier this year. But that cull did not include xl8 module notes.
All were in a nice box beside my desk (demoted from their original shelf space), mostly ignored.

It's amazing how much we still hang on to even when we don't need it.

Happy #WorldWaterDay! Fetch yourself a big glass of the good stuff and take a look at the watery wonder which is Hamonshu (1903), a Japanese book of wave and ripple designs: https://publicdomainreview.org/collection/hamonshu-a-japanese-book-of-wave-and-ripple-designs-1903
