🤝 Conservation is a team effort

Our work would not be possible without strong local and international partners.
Together with other NGOs, authorities, schools, and research institutions, we implement projects that create lasting ecological and social impact.

We would like to extend a special “thank you” to the following partners & supporters:
- Lutz Neckenbürger, Uli Planer, Wolfgang Oehler, Roland Schäfer, Konrad Struller, Eva Neubert – for their support during the set-up phase of DSCN

📖 A day in the life of our project coordinators reaching out to our DSCN scholarship students

Despite all hardships (flooding, bumpy roads, roadblocks, …) Simon, Armel and David always give their very best to deliver the scholarship material to the local schools and their students.

Our scholarships allow young people
to focus on education — and on shaping their future.

In 2025 we were able to support 79 students altogether.

🗣️ “The park is our future.”

“Before, I saw the park as a restriction.
Today, I understand that it is our livelihood.”

These words come David Kouamé KOUASSI who lives in Kakpin right outside of Comoé National Parc. We are glad to have his support as Research Assistant at the Comoé Research Station and as DSCN Project Coordinator facilitating the exchange with the local people in their native tongue Kulango. This change in perspective is what our work is about.

📚 Education protects biodiversity — sustainably

A school scholarship changes more than a résumé.
It changes decisions:
• away from poaching
• away from illegal gold mining
• towards education, future opportunities, appreciation of nature and nature protection

We are especially proud that with some of our local partners and collaborators we have been working together in various contexts for more than 20 years and could thus establish a strong and reliable partnership with the local communities.

In the appendix, we will introduce members of our local network and share why Comoé National Park matters so deeply to them.
