For some reason "AI is just like watching Netflix" is back in my feeds so I took that as a sign to update my data tracking for Netflix. The company's energy use rose 1% from 2021 to 2024.

Compare that to:

Google: 71%
Nvidia: 88%
Meta: 96%
Microsoft: 119%

Where are all the multi-gigawatt, tens-of-megatonnes gas-fired data centres being proposed by Netflix? Are governments frantically rushing fast-tracking laws for video streaming?

@bloftin2 huh, interesting. Jennifer's username is a reference to this myth, and I'd be surprised if anyone in your D&D group was familiar with it: https://youtu.be/U1Iv-BznrtQ

Today was the first day I’ve had chance to get out for a wander since @Greenteeth and I moved north. I ended up covering about 15k with this fantastic contraption hanging off my shoulder (including the best part of an hour just hanging out next to a hidden little brook deep in a valley).

It’s good to be back in Derbyshire again.

@thereisnocat @AlexLuyckxPhoto Yeah, the one in the scanning software also isn't as customisable. You can't manually mask out areas or tweak the sensitivity like you can with the Photoshop plug-in.
@thereisnocat @AlexLuyckxPhoto I'm doing some scan cleaning at the mo. Here's a before-and-after within the SRDx interface - thought you both might find it interesting.
@AlexLuyckxPhoto @bosak @thereisnocat This might be the most Canadian thing I've watched since Due South.

@AlexLuyckxPhoto @bosak @thereisnocat precisely this. I would happily pay for a stand alone lifetime license for something I use daily. I will not pay a subscription for something that could disappear or change in a way that ruins it tomorrow.

Now fetch me my cannon and lash the sails, we have work to do…

@bosak @thereisnocat @AlexLuyckxPhoto all I’m saying is that with the right eyepatch and maybe a hook for a hand, anything is possible. 😅
@bosak @thereisnocat @AlexLuyckxPhoto I'm using Photoshop 2024, so I'm afraid I can't help you there. I don't experience any crashes. I suggest you don your favourite eyepatch and upgrade, to be honest.
@bosak @thereisnocat @AlexLuyckxPhoto Yep, this is exactly my process: leave sensitivity at 13, vary tile size from 3 to 5 depending on what I'm dealing with, and pay close attention in the Mark Defects view to remove any sections where it's trying to remove actual highlights (which it will). You can't use it on grass, for instance - every blade will be picked up as a hair to be removed - but in photos where you've got large areas of relatively consistent tones, it's an absolute lifesaver.
