Nessun dorma | cogmodo

“Nessun dorma”, a famous aria from Puccini’s opera “Turandot”, gained global popularity after Pavarotti’s 1990 performance for the FIFA Word Cup. The aria, sung by Prince Calaf, expresses his confidence in winning Princess Turandot’s hand in marriage despite her cruel riddles. Ultimately, Calaf’s act of generosity offers Turandot a second choice to abandon her life as a cruel and lonesome princess and instead become part of a happy married couple.

This week I wrote about a couple of ways to actually get to and write down those things, those processes you don't do often enough to remember. Even if you think you'll never forget, record it anyway!!

Also, I get bossy about file names. Be super specific, in as few words as possible! Your future self is only going to remember a couple of key words around the skill they're looking for, so make sure you use them.

life is a mess, humans are unreliable, language is vage at best and now computers are striving to become more and more like us? let's face it: with ai, even the digital has become fuzzy

Fuzziness | cogmodo

The digital world, once precise and predictable, has become increasingly fuzzy with the advent of AI. This fuzziness, characterized by imprecise and sometimes incorrect outputs, challenges the traditional notion of computers as reliable tools. While AI offers natural language interaction, it also introduces uncertainty and raises questions about trust and the true nature of these powerful, opaque systems.

after many months i'm back with a new blog post. finally! and it's about a thing that bugs me every single day: maintenance and why your daily chores still make sense...

Maintenance | cogmodo

Maintenance is a fundamental aspect of life, encompassing everything from bodily functions to societal structures. It is not a burden but a prerequisite for meaning, as it allows us to preserve and sustain the systems that give our lives purpose. By consciously choosing what we maintain, we can shape our existence and find meaning in the ongoing process of care and responsibility.
