Actually sat down to paint a miniature tonight, something that I probably haven’t done in 25+ years. Tonight I did a Zoom call with friends to paint and talk about life, jobs, families, and more. It was a wonderful way to spend an evening. And surprisingly, my hands are still pretty steady. I won’t win any awards for this, but I also won’t be embarrassed by it (still a WIP).

First Twitter was on the verge of imploding, so tons of people jumped over here to Mastodon. Then The Hive showed up and a bunch of people started moving over there. And personally, I think that if the remaining engineers at Twitter manage to keep the ship afloat (despite Elon’s best attempts to sink it), people will slowly go back there and forget about Mastodon and Hive.

Judging by the hashtags, I guess that #Photomonday is a thing here on Mastodon, so I feel like I should join in.
These were taken this summer on our trip to the UK at the Housesteads Roman Fort section of Hadrian’s Wall in northern England. It was really a fascinating place to visit, even if it was just ruins. Also really cold and windy, even in June.

Got in a little #D&D today. It’s been a while since I got to RPG, so it was really nice to get dice back out in the table. Trying out the new Spelljammer world in 5th Edition, which was fun. I loved it in 2nd Edition, so I can’t wait to see how it is in 5e.

Continuing on in my Innsmouth Conspiracy campaign for #ArkhamHorrorLCG before jumping into the brand new Scarlet Keys campaign. Wendy and Lily are taking a drive to a lighthouse to try to discover more about the nefarious cult operating in Innsmouth, but those headlights in the rear-view mirror mean that someone is on to them.

It’s a good day when new games arrive. Today is the release of The Scarlet Keys campaign expansion for #ArkhamHorrorLCG and (sadly) the final product that lead designer MJ Newman worked on before moving to a new (and so far unannounced) game. I’m super excited to get this on the table and try to unwrap the mysteries surrounding the Coterie. #tabletopgaming #boardgaming #boardgames #arkhamhorror

The Mastodon slowness and connectivity issues today remind me of the olden days of Twitter and the glorious Fail Whale. Totally to be expected as a huge chunk of users jump over here after all the Twitter insanity.

I hope it keeps growing here and everyone makes this place a wonderful social media platform.

Young voters carried the Democrats yesterday. These voters are likely most interested in progressive policies. Here’s hoping (probably in vain) that the old timers who run the DNC machine recognize this and start to embrace progressive policies instead of their usual reaction of turning up their noses and belittling them.
