On this occasion of the launch of Artemis II, I need to reshare this.
This is a photo of 8 of the surviving Apollo astronauts, taken on the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
The man wearing ... well ... a heat shield, is Buzz Aldrin. I have to imagine his arrival went like this:
PHOTOGRAPHER: Um, Mr. Aldrin, this is a formal portrait.
BUZZ: Do you think I don't know that, son?
PHOTOG: Well, your outfit sir, it's-
BUZZ: Son. I've been to the moon. The mother-lovin' moon. In a tin can running on a graphing calculator powered by a can of sterno.
PHOTOG: Yes sir.
BUZZ: I get to wear what I want, where I want, when I want, for the rest of my life. Do you understand me, son?
PHOTOG: Right this way sir.
And what really gets me is Charlie Duke. He's the guy in the tux with the gold trim. He thought he was going to stand out in this photo. Then in walks Mr. Moon Man.

An employee put in a request for approval of a "Transcribe speech to text" app that was marked as "uses AI features."
Voice transcription, the same core functionality in Dragon Naturally Speaking, which has been around since 1997. Arguably, Dragon is more advanced because it can execute commands. Of course, these new apps also can't do transcription locally - they have to send your data off to servers for processing, indefinite storage, datamining...

Made a riff on a drink called a Clara Bow. Couldn't make a Clara Bow because I didn't have grenadine or mint. Friend of mine misunderstood what I said, confused it with The Nutcracker character, and said my drink should be called The Rat King.
So it shall be named.
Here are your ratios:
The Rat King
2 parts Chambord (basically subbed this for the grenadine)
2 parts St Germain
3 parts lemon juice
6 parts bourbon (100 proof or stronger)
Pour all ingredients over ice, stir until chilled.
Strain over a single large cube into a rocks glass.
Like a whiskey sour with a softer edge. I'm still tweaking. Yellowish-brown color. Could probably use a garnish. Open to suggestions/feedback.
