So I am backing up my giiinnnaaa-(thanks orange blight) made Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 1** **laptop photos folder onto an T7Shield external SSD drive and the backup is going dead slow (22MB/sec or so) given an SSD and USB3 (or so I thought) connection.

I switched the USB cable to the other USB port and reran the backup and got >113MB average throughput. Neither laptop USB port is marked blue.

This really pisses me off. How much fucking time have I been wasting routing USB traffic through what appears a USB2 port?

First one that recommends switching to a Mac gets shot the death glare. Yes, I am thinking about that now but really don't want to go that route with a new laptop given my desire for next laptop to have a least a basic series 4 GPU so I can run Fallout '76 (if people are still playing that)

OK, I'm done grousing. At least I have a faster alternative now.

So nice having access to the author of the micro.blog theme I am using for my site. I am still trying to wrap my head around micro.blog/hugo but I have a ways to go before I can fully enshitify my site on my own without help.

Now if I can just figure out how to get comic sans as the default font and get blinking text to work, I'd be all set.

As a leader, is #trump wounded, or as some have suggested cornered and wounded? I've read a number of articles suggesting so, and I think they miss a very basic point.

Trump is not himself wounded. He is surrounded by a cadre of officials that continue to germinate and execute policies from the chief narcissistic imbecile himself while also acting as ablative armor as needed.

The US is wounded. Everyday under the Trump admin is another in which the US crawls into a protective shell of ignorance, jettisoning it's global position as a leader in policy and business. In terms of relevancy, the US is following the UKs playbook.

I think Boomer just did the definitive post-mortem of the unexpected Shedeur Sanders NFL draft fall this past weekend. The fall wasn't the result of the NFL owners getting together and colluding to orchestrate punishment. It was individual owners deciding that the drama and chaos that would be introduced to their team by drafting Shedeur (and having his Dad involved) was not worth it.

I am seriously considering adding a #ricoh #griiix to my gear. I already shoot with a #griii but I am finding it a bit wide and am cropping a lot.
