If you want to understand the insanity of book banning now, may I direct your attention to Katy ISD, which has nudity as a criteria for removal from a school library.
They banned “No, David!”, which was in elementary libraries, because of nudity.

Not unexpected, but disappointing when your worst assumptions about politicians (and the impact of the billionaire oligarchs) plays out.
“When it is time to deliver power, these people reliably deliver it to people who” insert homophobic, racist, xenophobic, patriarchal, authoritarian item of choice.
Even if you are very nice, when you support people who strive for the above, it’s a reflection of who you are.
