Sure, I can up my withholding but how much do I’m not overpaying and getting a refund? Curious how others handle it. So far I just suck it up and pay a big bill that includes an underpayment penalty.
As an employee who receives RSUs as part of my compensation, filing taxes is one of the scariest events of every tax season. Will I owe $10? $10k? More? What’s my penalty going to be? It’s especially difficult as I also receive cash bonuses that are just as variable as the price of stock.
