Composer. I scored "The Death of Stalin", two seasons of "Schmigadoon", one "Black Mirror", and lots of things for Disney ("Mickey Mouse", "The Lion Guard"). I also arranged Eva Cassidy's posthumous album with the LSO, "I Can Only Be Me".

Mickey Mouse Christmas ornament! https://www.hallmark.com/ornaments/keepsake-ornaments/disney-mickey-and-minnie-lets-dance-musical-ornament-with-motion-2699QXD6717.html

Postmodernism-obsessed 2000s me would have been fascinated by the way this combines my quite recent music with vintage 1930s character designs. Is history being flattened, or rewritten, or just disregarded?

Disney Mickey and Minnie Let's Dance! Musical Ornament With Motion

Add some Disney magic to your tree with this Mickey and Minnie Let's Dance! Hallmark Keepsake Christmas ornament. Turn crank on the vintage toy piano design to see the couple dance and hear "Mickey Mouse Shorts" music.

Just noticed that in Harry Belafonte's "Day-O", the vocals are straight (i.e. not swung) but the band are swinging. Cool, right??

@TheoBaudoin You're right! There is extra music that you only hear if your train happens to be held for longer than usual. This can happen in the Carnival, in the underwater scene, in Daisy's dance studio, or in the park at the end. I will probably not be able to release them, but I wouldn't be surprised if some clever fans got ahold of them somehow and put them up online somewhere!

I can't miss this opportunity to tell you about the "eefing". It's performed by the one and only DEKE DICKERSON. Eefing is a totally amazing Appalachian tradition, often associated with Jimmy Riddle, who popularized it on "Hee Haw" (CBS) in the 60s and 70s.

It was the director, Eddie Trigueros, who introduced me to it and wanted to get it into the show. Appropriate because eefing is about the most "Eddie"ish thing in the sonic universe.

Deke was AMAZING and knocked it out of the park for us.

I love bluegrass in general, but I was especially inspired by the artistry of Michael Cleveland, one of my favorite musicians in the world right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFBhwTLoG0Y

The awesome fiddle is played by Luanne Homzy. If you listen out in the show, there is one section of fiddle in the soundtrack that's even more blazing - when the gang are catapulted from the windmill up to the hilltop. I had all the tech ready to have Luanne play it under tempo and speed her up .. but in the end it wasn't needed because she is such a speed demon.

@jabronus Ah thanks!!
Oh @chriswillis is here! His music is honestly the best part of the already excellent Mickey Mouse shorts (also Schmigadoon, but my kiddo doesn’t let me watch that as often).
