I honestly wonder if there is anyone in the whole world who likes the strawberry quality street. I have a mixed relationship with the orange one but the strawberry one is my chocolate enemy.
@siracusa @caseyliss regarding AI making tasks that would previously have been not been worth attempting: I wonder if this effect will wear off over time? If we’ll get used to things being this fast and so later those things will again become “not worth the time/effort”? Admittedly John did give us examples from the past but we also do acclimatise to time saving advances. (I have no horse in this race, just wondering aloud).

Similarly, there may be long-tail distributions where achieving a small increase in one metric leads to massive returns from another.

@caseyliss I’ll concede that F works better as “a percentage of hot” at the top end. It really doesn’t map well for me at the bottom (that maybe personal but it’s cold well before 0F!) but I’m sure we can bond Americans and everyone else over how much better the spelling of Celsius is over …(check).. fahrenheit.
