Unit 6 Post 10:
I actually had the honor of meeting a Navajo Code talker back in 2022 with the Navajo family I was nannying for at the time. His name was John Kinsel Sr. and he was one of the last surviving code talkers before passing away in 2024 at the age of 107. #Hist2110

I love reading about Lowrider culture because like the reading said Lowriders are an artform and I fully agree. #Hist2110
Unit 6 Post 8:
I love reading more about the Manhattan Project and the deep history New Mexico has with nuclear science/technology. #Hist2110
Unit 6 Post 7:
I liked reading and learning more about Dennis Chávez because I learned a little bit about him in high school and it was a good way to refresh my memory and even learn a little more.. #Hist2110
Unit 6 Post 6:
The great depression in new mexico where prosperity was distributed unevenly where there were people who drove new cars while others were still walking can also be related to our current economic situation in modern day. #Hist2110

It is so cool that Zozobra is still a big part of Santa Fe’s culture even over 100 years after Will Schuster created the first one. #Hist2110
Unit 6 Post 4:
Taos and Santa Fe still attract lots of tourism and art. I feel like it still does show the disparity of wealthy and poor New Mexico in present day just like it did in the early 20th century. #Hist2110
Unit 6 Post 3:
I feel like many people in modern day can relate to the Madrid coal mine worker with the union catering to the interest of the owners at the expense of the workers. #Hist2110
Unit 6 Post 2:
I want to read more about and learn more about the Exclusion Act of 1882 and why Asian people were denied entry into the United States because I feel like this ties to the discrimination and horrible things the U.S. government would do to Japanese people during world war 2. #Hist2110
Unit 6 Post 1:
I find it so disheartening that the Works Progress Administration (WPA) fired Carabajo because he was no longer recognized as a legal resident of New Mexico. #Hist2110
