@stroughtonsmith thanks - I need to think about this. The thing is the capabilities of these models are changing so fast that my own mental model is having trouble keeping up.
@stroughtonsmith I'm really curious how you envision approachiing the maintenance phase of an app developed like this. I can see how one would approach new features, but what about bugs? Do you trust the LLM to "fix" code without changing something else, do you need to break into the code yourself?
@jerry my senior labra-something crossed the rainbow bridge a year ago this month. Spending more time with yours - no matter why - is the best choice.
@hacks4pancakes Incomplete (or maybe a different region of Canada than I'm in). Short distances are imperial, long distances are in metric, and travel distances are in time - as "How far is it to Kamloops?" "Oh, about 5 hours"

@siracusa I've been of the opinion for a while that if really feels like Apple doesn't dogfood - because things like this would have been discovered fast (I've seen countless bugs over the last few years that back that up that impression).

What I want to know is what hardware / software are Apple engineers using, because I also can't picture them *not* using their own stuff at home.

@0xabad1dea I last attended school 30 years ago and I still dream the exam is today and I forgot I was attending the course, and can’t find the room
@stroughtonsmith this sounds great as long as they fix my one deal breaking bug with the first party apps - that KeyNote export to PDF includes the presenter notes regardless of the state of the “include presenter notes” checkbox. It’s my standing proof that nobody in Apple actually uses or expects anybody to use an iPad as a business device. The bug has been there at least since the M iPads have existed.
@fesshole WTF? I can’t imagine how anyone could possibly. I kept scratching my girl for some time after I couldn’t feel a pulse just in case there was a chance she could feel I was still there.
@briankrebs just to be clear, the tariffs are a small part of it. The reaction is being driven by his insistence he plans to destroy Canada’s sovereignty.
@antons try plugging it into a second monitor - it’s pretty clear that Apple has forgotten that capability even exists.
