🇩🇪 Germany is AGAINST Chat Control:

Jens Spahn: "We as the CDU/CSU parliamentary group are against indiscriminate monitoring of chats. That would be like preemptively opening all letters to check whether there's something illegal in them. That's not acceptable, that won't happen under our watch."

Peter Hummelgaard, Danish Minister of Justice, in an interview about Chat Control, remains defiant:

"I indisputably believe that surveillance creates an increased sense of security ... and given that the prerequisite for freedom is security, yes, I believe that more surveillance equates to more freedom"

Denmark has scheduled a vote on Chat Control the 14th of October. Despite not wanting to break end-to-end encryption, 🇩🇪 Germany remains both UNDECIDED and critical to defeating the proposal.
