Everyone claimed that web advertising was going to eliminate seeing promotions you didn't care about. Instead it evolved to smother the content that attracts readers.

OK, I just asked a major retailer customer service AI chatbot if a particular item was in stock and got this answer: "We are sorry! We are experiencing higher than normal chat volume and all of our agents are currently unavailable. Please try again later, thank you!." Does this mean they are out of computers to answer my question? This is how all those AI investments are paying off in better service for customers. :-)
