I expect this'll recur, though, as he had a similar back injury shortly after we adopted him early this year. One might hope with time he'll grow more careful, but never have I known a less cautious animal. That he survived as a stray is a miracle. #dogsofmastodon

Three years ago: #MartyTheDog, then a year old, wrestling neighbor dog Buttons, a few months old. Buttons was a hilarious puppy. He has since grown up to be a full size standard poodle and graduate of service dog school, an animal of poise and dignity. He and Marty still recognize each other. #dogsofmastodon
