These are some of my thoughts on the "Is this physics?"debate raised within the physics community on the occasion of the Nobel Prize being awarded to John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton. The take-home message for my skeptical friends and colleagues is an invite to welcome the broadening physics domains beyond the classical boundaries as just an extension of its core mission: the ability to describe reality.
