Lazy Sunday after KubeCon with decorating Stroopwaffles and the cinema 😌
Interesting point on access controls for AI telemetry information here at KubeCon. We share all sorts of personal information with agents. Not everyone needs access to full prompts and outputs. PII sanitation is also important just as we do with logs.
A busy day at KubeCon. This great diagram from the OTTL debugging talk is a useful intro to the telemetry data model
Come find me and my Elastic colleagues around the conference and at booth 980 if you want to talk about observability and AI 👋
End of KubeCon Monday, and it's been a busy one with the Elastic and PagerDuty meetup with Alex Wert and Daniel Afonso speaking, and the first talk of the week from my colleague Roger Coll! Come say hi at booth 980 tomorrow 👋

I came across an interesting read this morning on head-based probabilistic sampling in OpenTelemetry SDKs. I didn't realise for Node.js it's the default spec, and that you just need to configure the sampling rate. In @Elastic EDOT that's via sampling_rate or OTEL_TRACES_SAMPLER_ARG. See image for code for OTel SDK.

Come along to the DevOps Society meetup. There's talks on challenges running K8 clusters in prod, and myself on observing AI applications with OpenLit OTel signals and Elastic.
