This project is done. The bill is too long and the side panels are not quite the right shape but for the first one this is will do. The fit is spot on.
Lots of mistakes were made and I learned a lot. This is canvas and will be waxed but the next one will be herringbone wool.
Sweatband and liner are in, I just need to anchor the bill to the front crown and this project is done.
This evenings progress, got the liner and brim cut and sewn. Might get them attached tonight if I play my cards right.
It's #MakeShitMonday! Lets see your project progress or things you've made. Anything goes!
Rigged up a projector in the garage to display templates and am using a 24x32 cutting mat for calibration. It works a treat and will be really useful for future projects
Show me what you got!
This looks a lot more interesting than rebuilding a sewing machine motor
Cleaned up the commutator with it still attached to the motor shaft using aluminum oxide sandpaper. The commutator stone sat this one out.
Rebuilding another electric motor.
The commutator needs some love, chucking it in the lathe will make this quick and easy.
Already changed the phrasing to something I like better
Looking at making stickers or maybe even pins for upcoming conferences. This will be a long process as time allows but will be "thinking out loud" in this space as I iterate through different designs but this is the basic idea and first iteration.
Absolute chonker of a battery pack in this mug.
