France 🇫🇷 is aiming to increase the number of high-power public EV charging points alongs the main routes:

By 2035
22,000 150 kW chargers for 🚗 at 900 motorway locations

8,000 chargers for 🚚🚛 (mix of 800, 400 kW and 100 kW for long-duration) at

Finally, Volkswagen is launching a V2G tariff in Germany. It is now scheduled for launch in Q4 2026.

Although Volkswagen was the first German car manufacturer to release bidirectional charging functionality in their vehicles, they are now behind BMW, Mercedes and Ford (whose EVs use VW technology) in terms of announcing an actual charger and tariff bundle.

Great to hear Madeleine Brolly from BNEF raising attention to public charging costs. For home charging, electricity is already much cheaper than fuel, especially with a smart tariff. But for public #EV charging, users also need access to dynamic / ToU pricing to bring costs below the price of fuel

Et tu, Grüne?

Even the German Greens are supporting the fairytale of a 'highly efficient' combustion engine, alongside 'climate-friendly fuels', plug-in hybrids, hydrogen and e-fuels.

With these friends, the European Green Deal doesn't need enemies.

This is from the planned coalition in Baden-Württemberg

Venezuela is the only country where the running costs for a fossil fuel car are lower than for an electric car

In some Latin American and Caribbean countries, such as Suriname, it is up to 12 times cheaper to drive an electric vehicle than a petrol car (when looking purely at fuel costs)
