Gotta love the feeling of replacing yet another piece of shit python system utility with one that is written in Rust and doesn’t break every 2 weeks or crash all the time.
I wonder what’s the technical reason behind why firmware updates take so long. I just updated the firmware on a monitor and it took 20 minutes. Is there just an extremely low clock speed processor in there for infrequent updates? Is it doing tons of self checks?
I’ve never purchased a copy of Windows in my life. I took a look just now and I can’t believe they are charging $200 for Windows these days. I assumed they were still practically giving it away.
@cereal_cable I’m intrigued. What’s your setup? I’ve currently got a NUC running Plex, PiHole, and a bunch of random utilities. Then 2 RPis running some custom sensor software. All 3 are on NixOS. I’m thinking of setting up some kind of HA hypervisor eventually.
