One thing I'm finding helpful from discussion with Kerry Hart, who is a peer working on career path models in engineering, is this visualization he came up with on what maturing engineers spend time on as they grow in their career.

Your model made me think of this image – I love how it captures the changing nature of IC work over time w/o forcing ICs into managing – and how it clarifies that "Leadership" & "Strategy" are not solely the realm of "Managment"
