My point is not that things are better than the past. My point is that, for the most part, we already have what you want.

My point is not that people would waste it anyways. My point is that they're wasting it now.

By all means, fight the good fight. Publicly funded institutions should be open-access. Just don't get your hopes up. Then again, I am completely cynical regarding humanity at this point.

@minx We do live in that era. The internet already provides access to more history, culture and knowledge than our ancestors could have dreamed of. People still mostly just watch cat videos.

@Thibaut @yogthos ^^This^^. Far as I can tell, most Millenials think socialism means universal healthcare and free college. Not public ownership of the means of production. They wan't America to be like Denmark, not Cuba.

I'm kind of surprised that the news that there's a lake on Mars hasn't gotten more traction. It's kind of a big deal.
