@maxthyme haha! All I needed until recently was a broom. Then I was gifted a small table saw and that went out the window…
@davepolaschek at least I’m in good company!
(Don’t judge my wood storage situation - working on it!)
All that time spent in the hockey rink as a kid finally coming in handy. #woodworking
Some 250 year old cut nails I was gifted at Christmas next to some finishing cut nails I picked up in the fall. It’s a shame we don’t use these more often now. #woodworking

One of my personal inspirations in this vein is a man I met named Daniel about 8 years ago.

He retired as a military physicist around the age of 70, but hated retirement. Started a full undergrad at 78 years old in fine arts at the Ontario College of Art and Design. Finished at 82 and when I met him a few years after that he was spending all his time building conceptual art pieces in his workshop.

He knew how to live.

Listen, if you are feeling like it’s too late to follow your dreams or to change things, recall that the very first LIFE ON EARTH film by David Attenborough came out in the 70s when David was 53. Think of every amazing thing he has done since to change the world and promote the environment; these happened in his 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and now at 96 he is working on a new documentary in Scotland. I’m 45. It’s like I haven’t been born yet in David years. #nature #environment #aging #hope
Slight modification to my drill holder to hold all the miscellaneous bits I have that didn’t come with their own holders. #woodworking
@frew @davepolaschek I might just give that a try next time I need to use a fret saw! Haven’t gone down the path of making my own tools yet, but definitely see the appeal.
@davepolaschek @frew I’m curious what coping saw you’re using @frew? I’ve only used one a couple times, but my first attempt was with a cheaper one and I had no luck at all. Replaced it with a metal truss-style one and had a much easier time, though I’ve never tried a bow saw so I can’t compare.
