Let’s collaborate to navigate these times

@OKMagazine @news-OKMagazine Of all people, a clear nepo baby Meghan McCain— daughter of infamous warmonger John McCain—has least credibility to point fingers. On top of that, Meghan McCain is factually wrong

Hospitals are killing patients because they don't feel like doing infection control

We now know COVID is fully airborne. We also know how to control airborne disease. So why are vulnerable people still dying of hospital-acquired COVID?

@lesbianbug Good point and I do agree. Those aren't my lists though maybe the curators have alternate platforms or would consider.

I did think twice before even sharing those due to major privacy/environmental/ethical issues of the hosting company. Ultimately I felt the potential support and camaraderie resulting from sharing were likely a net benefit

A few days after I made that post, I learned of this helpful site:

Lots of great stuff there!

IT'S OFFICIAL: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York State, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and New York City have formed the Northeast Public Health Collaborative.

The collaborative will issue their own vaccine recommendations and coordinate public health efforts.

A new 🧵 on the #COVID19 situation:

I am getting more cautious about #COVID19 again. I believe you should, too. New data:

- COVID in US wastewater has doubled in the past five weeks and is still rising (https://biobot.io/data/).

- US COVID hospitalizations are up 40% in a month and still rising (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#trends_weeklyhospitaladmissions_select_00).

- COVID positive rate has risen over 150% in two months. It's now matched our highest positive rate in the last winter surge, and it's still rising (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#trends_select_testpositivity_00)

Biobot's Wastewater Data and Wastewater Intelligence Platform

Our wastewater intelligence platform monitors concentrations of both pathogens and chemicals in wastewater from across the U.S.

@MaryAustinBooks Congrats!

Haha, I think Sean meant that you’re so up to speed on stopping transmission you could put epidemiologists out of work

Though it does also mean you know facts that were missed or ignored by some high profile epidemiologists who bungled the initial SARS2 response in 2020 by denying evidence of airborne transmission

In any case, love to see that 100 score and glad to meet you!

How denial of airborne COVID transmission broke the world - Healthy Debate

Five years later, the greatest basic science failure in generations caused the pandemic harms highlighted by people across the political spectrum, and broke our social cohesion.

Healthy Debate

Helpful points about encouraging others to practice covid caution.

[When I hear of interesting events, I try to ask the organizers what the *health* protections will be (e.g., will respirator masks be required/provided?) - where possible to link it to their stated goals of, say, care or solidarity or accessibility. In sevreral cases they've ended up 'encouraging' masking and sometimes making them available; it's not all I'd want, but it's something. Labor groups also seem sensitive to the point that not everyone gets sick days. ]

How do you get people to care about COVID-19? Here’s what I’ve learned as an organizer. - The Sick Times

As someone with Long COVID, it’s demoralizing to see people in my circles party and engage in COVID-risky behaviors while I sit at home. It would be easy to turn my back on those people and give up on community organizations that minimize COVID-19. But that’s not me, and that’s not what being in community means.

The Sick Times - Chronicling the Long Covid crisis

3 friends and have met for a video call weekly since early 2020 (with a few missed weeks). I am quite certain this anchor is a reason I haven’t lost my will to live.
We are all #CovidCompetent. It’s the only time in my week where reality is acknowledged and we can talk freely without “back to normal“ pressure.

May everyone have meaningful support for their emotional health.
