The uniqueness of the human body, governed by complex biological constraints, makes it a significant challenge. Check Star Trek: TNG Technical Manual (Sternbach & Okuda, 1991) for the fictional bit. For the actual science, see Heisenberg’s 1927 paper (Zeitschrift für Physik, Vol. 43) or Griffiths’ Quantum Mechanics (2004). Real quantum teleportation? Bennett et al. (Phys. Rev. Lett., 1993).
