Getting people to become numb and shut off is certainly part of the plan. Find a way to engage at some level that is sustainable even if it is just a private slack channel or lunch with friends. Yes, none of us have an obligation to keep our hand in the pain box.

@headius For me that is Red Dead Redemption 2. I am three years and 400 hours in but only at 55% of my first play through. I just want it to never end. I have zero interest in any other game I read about.

Spent some time on the weekend trying to figure out favourite contacts, VIPs for Focus/DnD, messaging, calls and mail, etc. for #iOS. What a truly awful fucking unusable mess. And of course it is different, but not better, in iOS 26. #Apple hasn't just lost their UX mojo, they have forgotten they ever had it.

@chrisvest The definition has changed with time. You are correct that it was originally "minimum if $1,000,000 in assets" in part because that was seen as a threshold for a "living on the interest never spending principal" upperclass lifestyle. The definition changed because that lifestyle now requires much more capital to live off the income.
