I never tried to use this before but does Mastodon not have DMs?
Is there a better iOS app for InfoSec Exchange than the official Mastodon app?

@deviantollam saw your latest video with the door tool inside the ratcheting belt. Now I'm tempted to swap my Nexbelt for the door tool belt.

What is "the website you don't mention" though?

A really annoying thing that absolutely needs to stop:

- "More info in the discord!" / "Changelog in the Discord!"

STOP THAT.

Discord is a closed, proprietary platform. Post your stuff on the actual open web where more people will see it.

The push for an "age verification" requirement on the Internet is 1% aimed at protecting children and 99% aimed at controlling speech. It effectively bans anonymity, for starters.

It is a license to speak, and read.

Open letter: The dangers of age verification proposals to fundamental rights online - European Digital Rights (EDRi)

On 16 September, EDRi and 63 organisations, academics and experts in privacy, encryption, child safety, sex workers' rights and consumer rights issued a joint statement urging the European Commission to prioritise effective child safety measures while expressing serious concerns about the suitability, proportionality, and negative impact on fundamental rights of current age verification proposals.

A reminder that anyone can sue anyone else for any amount of money.

The amount requested in lawsuit filings like this is PR. It's designed to get journalists to publish wildly big numbers to sensationalize the case even more.

And it usually works, because journalists routinely do PR for plaintiffs, by not thinking about what they're doing.

The Verge -- and other media organizations -- should know better than to do this.

So InfoSec.exchange apparently filters out some formatting choices like asterisks and numbered lists. Why?

Absorb this graph—but note that the final year is 2018, the year of Trump’s tax cuts. That’s #Trump’s big goal, always has been: to rip off working people and hand huge bags of cash to the ultra-wealthy, like himself and his Mar-a-Lago buddies.

Rutger Bregman:

Stunning graph: the plummeting tax rates of the richest Americans. For the first time in history, billionaires have a lower effective tax rate than working-class Americans.

Who’s laughing at NASA now for buying the extended space probe warranty.
