Our next #HitchinHackspace weekly open evening is on Monday 15th June.

We will be open from 19:30 until 22:00 to give folks who may be interested in what we do, and what facilities we can provide, a chance to come and have a look round and meet some of our members.
All are welcome. If you have ever wondered what we did to convert a derelict toilet into a hackspace, or what a "hackspace" is for that matter, come and have a look around.
If you like to create, make or craft things why not pay us a visit?
We have tools and equipment that cover a wide range of hobbies, crafts and technologies: woodwork, metalwork, electronics, laser cutting, vinyl cutting, sewing, 3D printing.....
Free tea, coffee and a biscuit or two.πŸ«–β˜•πŸͺπŸ™‚

My mental health has been a bit rocky over the passed month, nothing major but just dragging me down. So to spend this weekend commentating on a motorsport I helped found with an absolute legend of my adolescence has been an absolute balm.

10/10, would recommend meeting Robert Llewellyn. Especially if you're surrounded by gloriously bonkers creations like at @hackyracers!

Massive thank you to Everything Electric for hosting us, it was an absolute blast!

Looking forward to more racing mayhem today at Everything Electric in Cheltenham. More racers than yesterday, same small narrow circuit! #hackyracers
Space Data Centers: We've all seen the headlines about SpaceX building "AI satellites" and Google testing orbital compute. The concept sounds amazing? Right? You bypass Earth's grid entirely, harvest 24/7 solar energy and use the vacuum of space for cooling. At least in theory space data centers do not use any land, no local water consumption and unlimited green energy despite massive upfront launch costs. So the question is how do you repair compute in space? (1/2)
Right. Got hold of a rare honda connector for the #psion , time to see about some sort of DIY network connector build. Probably an esp or similar.

You enjoyed it so much last time, we're running another #GeekUp Leigh. And to keep you on your toes, we're running it next Thursday on the 18th of June, starting at 7PM. At @leigh_hackspace, details on EventBrite, I promise future ones will be slightly less disorganized.

Of course, we would love to see as many of your there as possible, and there will be pizza.
