Well. Starmerism is over, thank Dog.

Burnham wins by such a margin it didn't even matter that Restore Britain split the fash vote, but thank you for your service nonetheless, Rupert, and hope to see you doing just as well at the general election.

Other things to note: Nobody else even kept their deposits. Lib Dems barely came in ahead of Count Binface.

Well, Stellaris: Nomads just dropped, that's my productivity flatlined for the week.

The drama deepens on the Real Housewives of Westminster: an MP has now stepped down in order to allow the King in the North to ride down to London to save the Labour Party. The constituency in question is Makerfield, which is currently polling nearly 50% Reform, so there's an interesting choice for you. Presumably the idea is that since it's in Greater Manchester, Burnham will wiggle his sceptre and breeze through anyway. Or they might be hoping Farage in his inscrutable wisdom will try to run Matt Goodwin again.

Meanwhile, Wes Streeting, the former Health Secretary and MP for Palantir, has apparently decided not to press his advantage and call for a leadership challenge before Burnham has time to ride down there. It might be that he just saw the poll indicating that if he and Starmer were the only candidates, Starmer would win. That's how much everyone loves Wesley.

No other challengers have so far appeared. While Angela Rayner has just had her tax scandal resolved in her favour, it seems unlikely that she's interested in challenging Burnham.

And what the Lord of Chaos plans, only the Lord of Chaos knows.

These aren't even remotely the final results, but I'm a little embarrassed for the Welsh, extremely embarrassed for the English, and actively considering whether I need to give in and move to Edinburgh.

I'm catching up on the massacre in the Commons today, and it's always such a delight to see the assistant MP for Torbay in the chamber having a bit of a snooze as the PM's career is bleeding out on the same floor.
Always two there are: a master and an apprentice.
Good morning and a very happy Thatcher Day to you all! It's been 13 years today and she's still dead. 🎉

Well, I just came out of an intensive three day hack session and it appears I made a thing:

I'm not saying it's a gaming calculator, but it's damned useful for running the numbers in that kind of game. I guess most people scratch that itch with a spreadsheet, but my programmer brain obviously feels much more at home with a text editor and a bit of syntax, and that's what this is. A spreadsheet for nerds.

It's a pure client side web app, built on top of MathJS, so it does units, functions, trigonometry, matrices, etc out of the box, and CodeMirror, which reminds me I have to put the Emacs keymap in.

No React, no Tailwind, no slop, just carefully hand crafted browser tech and enough CSS to make you ill. Works on Firefox and Chromium and almost certainly not Safari. Please enjoy.

EDIT: I fixed it to make sure it works on Epiphany (aka GNOME Web), so fair bet it should now work on Safari too.
