Roses are my husband's favorite flowers.
Until I got here he didn't know how to grow them. He had planted a few rose bushes he got from his parent's gardener right outside the front door. They hadn't been pruned in twenty years.
I haven't been giving them the attention they needed for the last thirty years.
The solid red is a classic but I don't know the name.
All of our roses are covered with buds. Most are protected by netting but for the few right at the front door which are more challenging to protect.
Summer is a decent deer deterrent but can't work 24/7. Hopefully the deer find other treats this year.
