@aphyr we rewatched The Net post-transition and realized how autistic and trans-coded Angela Bennett is — she orders the same pizza every night and sits on IRC after reversing some malware, for most of the movie nobody believes her when she asserts her identity, and the villain is just a chaser

It's dangerous to model people as generations. But I do think that if you are someone from the pre-2005 internet you have responsibility to tell people how once, individuals owned the contents of the internet and we're not working entirely within the walled gardens of corporate ad spheres.

That's a very big mindset change for folks who've never known the internet before Twitter/Facebook/Tiktok

What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger.

hi
darque

I don't know who needs to hear this but

The postal service exists to deliver letters and parcels to people
Not to make money for shareholders

The transport system exists to move people to where they need to go
Not to make money for shareholders

The water, gas, and electricity supplies exist to provide people vital utilities
Not to make money for shareholders

The healthcare system exists to ensure (and that's ENsure, not INsure) the health of the population
Not to make money for shareholders

Shareholders in vital public services are a vampiric drain on those services

Capitalism is a disease
