A Bulgarian living in Amsterdam since 2014

I did a lot of strength training back in the day - between 2009-2014, then I moved to NL and it’s been mostly biking, running and yoga. I made a Basic Fit subscription this year and am actually going (skipped a week because of the ski trip).

Now at 3 week streek, just once a week (plus 3x running and yoga at home) but I am happy. I do feel much better and knock on wood my lower back is feeling better as well.

Photo is by a friend of mine, who lives in #sofia .

A campaign against #DomesticViolence being defaced with spray paint (you can see where they tried to clean) and incel stickers saying “Say no to violence from women” can tell you everything you need to know about how the topic is being handled in #bulgaria .

While women are in most cases primary childcare providers and equal part of the workforce, they’re still very much subjected to a more submissive role in the family.

I’m the primary person #cooking at home and have been cycling through the same 10-12 recipes that I can do with my eyes closed and have been utterly uninspired.

Dug out the Albert Heijn magazines that I usually get and stick in the pantry and have been browsing through recipes for the last hour. I mean, it’s mostly “Dutch cuisine” (lots of potatoes, carrots, cabbage) but there are some pretty good finds.

There’s something really nice about actually physically going through them vs an app

Ok, wasn’t that bad. Not sure where I found the energy for #running
A bit different from the usual broadcast, but - I had been looking for a European brand that’s like The Ordinary (but isn’t The Ordinary) and on the EU skincare subreddit I came across this one - Revox B77 (yes, apparently called the same as a Swiss radio device, in case you search for it). Then I come to find out, it’s actually a #bulgarian brand. I bought some stuff from Notino and so far I’m pretty happy with it. It even smells nicer than The Ordinary stuff
#strava is now complete garbage and I want no part of it. I opened 4 screens and 3 of them had ads. Deleted the app, considering deleting my 11 year old account too.
My most favorite edible #fractals . #romanesco is the best member of the cauliflower family.
Multiple sicknesses, sciatica, traveling messed up the last three months but with a last ditch effort I completed my annual running goal. Hope the new year will come with fewer hurdles.
Netherlands doesn’t really celebrate #halloween (they have Sint Maarten) but the little one is super excited and we carved a pumpkin. Happy Halloween everyone! May there be more holidays and reasons for celebrating and enjoying life.

I’ve been #running every day for the last five days - starting at 1km on Monday, 2 on Tuesday, etc. I think I will rest tomorrow (also it’s my partner’s birthday party) and see what I feel like on Sunday, if I can shove another run this week or not.

I was super sick last week so don’t want to do too much too fast - but this has felt pretty good so far. And I’ve been sleeping like a dead person, which is great.
