For those unit enthusiasts out there... did you know that several fundamental units were redefined? Four of the seven SI base units were redefined in terms of natural physical constants rather than human artifacts, such as the standard kilogram

We suggest a conceptual & theoretical basis for ecological resilience that integrates macroecology with a stochastic diffusion approximation constrained by principles of biological symmetry. This approach provides an alternative novel framework for studying ecological resilience in the Anthropocene
Intensifying ecological disturbances pose significant challenges to our predictive capabilities. We suggest a conceptual and theoretical basis for ecological resilience that integrates macroecology with a stochastic diffusion approximation constrained by principles of biological symmetry

Prickly prospects for cacti under climate change
The common perception of cacti as heat- and drought-loving desert plants causes climate change to be overlooked as a potential threat to their conservation. Our work forecasting the distribution of cacti under various climate change scenarios reveals that a majority of species will lose suitable habitat. This discovery adds to a long list of factors threatening cacti. - submission by Michiel Pillet
