In that case, I think I'd prefer playing as the cannibal.

As a natural first step for my new Nr.1 #priority (#learning #German), I decided to build a #Lisp app (Vidhi) to learn #Deutsch more "efficiently". This weekend I finished the first part, reading news from nachrichtenleicht.de

I got to use py4cl to interact with #Python #NLP library Spacy to do the heavy-lifting. I could try cl-nlp, but I wanted to stay focused on my priority #1. Gotta keep 'em priorities straight! If it proves useful, I hope I'll replace spacy with a lisp-native library.

Let me try this #buildinpublic thing I've seen people doing on the bird app.

I am building a Journeys mechanism for my personal site. Idea is to:

  • make a commitment
  • document (for myself but also for others) my journey with it
  • maybe allow others to join me on a journey, and collaborate

Value for me:
A tool/framework to methodically approach a wish, automatically track my progress (because I often overwhelm myself with depressing thoughts despite actually making a lot of progress and vice-versa), and have a fun little corner on my website

Value for others:
A thick trail of documentation/resources/lessons/tips for someone interested in a subject I've already explored.

Basically a community, but at an individual level.

Here's how the initial/current draft of journeys listing looks like:
