A place where we can always find pen and paper

Big ups đ«¶đŒ @josh
having fun with this neat little iceberg simulator!! i was thinking about how what is important is not always seen at first glance, hence the saint-exupéry
fun ice facts: icebergs are freshwater glacial ice formations floating in saltwater, which means they float due to density differences ( freshwater ice density < saltwater density ) -> see ice crystal lattice below
Luckily, this type of dramaticism isnât necessary IRL (no human sacrifices). But the fact that every time we connect (nowadays already 24/7), we are losing a part of ourselves to the global NN (Lain called it in 98) is very thought-provoking.
With all the intimate info, mistakes, or what not that anyone has ever done uploaded to AI, what would ALL RESET be here?
Lain in me wants to exercise her right to be forgotten without expunging the âhardwareâ
The series slowly reveals through its â13 layersâ of The Wired protocol stack:
Lain is an âexecutable program of fleshâ, âsoftware, not hardwareâ representing the collective unconscious, âglobal neural networkâ.
She is omnipresent, omniwiscient, watching everything without explicating choosing to do so, versions of her violates the privacy of others.
âNo matter where you go, everyoneâs connected.â Lain
[spoiler alert on my fav anime!]
Released in 1998, #serialexperimentslain remains fresh a nonce.
Early commentary on the imminent mass invasion of privacy and the perils of digitisation on human identity is made through Lain, a 14 year old girlâs sacrifice in a society, where everyone is connected to The Wired (representing the internet) and living digital realities. Lain too begins with her PC, given by her dad, Navi and gets deeper wired
Naturally their website also has an excellent selection of puzzles: http://datagenetics.com/blog.html

2 tings I love about the #XZbackdoor discovery story:
1) it was discovered by Andres Freund. Ja. Genau. Was fĂŒr ein wahrer Freund.
2) Freund found it because he noticed increased CPU load and decided to dig in.
That's all it takes sometimes to prevent a world-wide disaster. A friend digging into detail.
the moment i heard it at #emfcamp --> I just beamed so hard :D but refrained from dumping german dad jokes on my beloved english friends
