- Microbiology: Brian Joyce is researching how soil bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi collaborate to help plants absorb nutrients.
- Botany: Luke Quill is looking at the role of mycorrhizal fungi in vegetative buffer strips.
- Environmental history: Gabriel Coleman is reconstructing a history of Irish agricultural industrialisation and fertiliser pollution.

We're four PhD researchers at Trinity looking at different aspects of agricultural nutrient pollution. Our project is one of the E3 Kinsella Challenge projects aimed at addressing environmental challenges with interdisciplinary research.
