I finished the first prototype of my new Double Basket Beanie. Based on Barbara Walker's Double Basket Pattern this beanie is comfortable and squishy.

I'm writing the pattern to be easily sized by adjusting the number of stitch patterns knit.

Next, I'm going to start knitting a medium version in a fun color.

Once I have a small version done and the pattern cleaned up, I hope to get some test knitters to try out the new pattern.

Enjoy!

Starting to assemble my Bulky Swatch Blanket. It's been a fun project and I've enjoyed working through many of the Barbara Walker stitch patterns. Enjoy! https://tenyearplan.org/index.php/2023/03/31/bulky-swatch-blanket/
Bulky Swatch Blanket - Ten Year Plan

I’ve started putting together the Bulky Swatch Blanket. I plan to tile the swatches together somewhat randomly and use different colors for the connecting knitting bands. The swatches are various sizes, so I will keep it random and shoot for a Mondrian-style look.  We’ll see how it goes 🙂

Ten Year Plan

I love a good project bag, and I wanted a really big project bag for my checkmate sweater. So I dug my sewing machine out of the closet and got to work. Check out my Whiskey Knits large drawstring project bag. Plenty of pockets inside for stuff, and one pocket outside. What do you guys think?

Enjoy!

Ocean sunrise from a couple of years ago. Enjoy!

From Barbara Walker's, A Treasury of Knitting Patterns Vol 1 is the Harlequin Pattern. It doesn't look like much from the accompanying picture, but a) this is a fun knit, b) the resulting texture is robust, and c) the pattern is delightful! Happy with my choice of colors using Berroco Vintage Chunky, colorway 6110 Fondant, and a nice contrasting colorway 6151 Cardinal. Of course, it's only my favorite till the next one.

Enjoy!

Basket Weave Beanie pattern by William Estep

An easy-to-knit beanie with a 4” cuff to fold up. Great for keeping the ears and neck warm. The cuff pattern continues right into the overall basket weave pattern of the hat.
