The fact we have been taught to ignore that, like rape victim / survivor accounts, is not a coincidence. It’s by design.
Our systems treat our bodies like machines, normalizing our disassociation, violent social relations, and destruction of our planet in every conceivable way.
We should be moved by nature being contaminated for it’s own sake, and because it means we are too.
The water you see visibly more polluted, or you read has microscopic contaminants in it, not visible to the naked eye, are reflections of waters inside us and the foods we eat.
It’s weird to think that it’s taken me this long to realize that I want to be doing librarian, museum, and archival work because everything I’ve ever done honestly makes that so obvious.
It’s like it was right in front of me this whole time, and I hadn’t named that I wanted it.
The first thing that happened today is I found out I was accepted into the Syracuse Master of Science in Library and Information Science program 🥳🍾
Now to just find a way to afford to live for the foreseeable future because I was fired for going viral for telling the truth about a white supremacist christian nationalist six months ago, and will be living in my car in the worst economy of my lifetime, unless something changes in the next few weeks LOL 🤞🏻🐦⬛
