Books, Booze & Barbara
I haven't attended a lot of readings since the pandemic, but one of the few I have attended -- although, admittedly, not often enough -- is Randee Dawn's Brooklyn Books & Booze @ Barrow’s Intense. It takes place once a month, every third Tuesday at an interesting bar in Brooklyn's Industry City that specializes in ginger liqueurs (although it offers other drinks as well).

Here's my end of the year roundup blog -- I managed to get two stories published this year, so I thought I'd add them to the other lists I've seen.

Since Amazon is no longer selling subscriptions to print and Kindle magazines, your favorite independent-press mag may be undergoing hard times.
Support it by going to the pub's website and subscribing. For example, subs for The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction can be found via Weightless Books (https://weightlessbooks.com/the-magazine-of-fantasy-and-science-fiction-6-issue-subscription/). It's got some great fiction (the fact that they recently published my story "Time and Art" has nothing to do with it whatsoever, of course!).
Warning: Self-promotion and postponed reading:
First, I'll be reading my short story "Stoop Ladies" from my book The History of Soul 2065, on Jim Freund's Hour of the Wolf radio show tonight at 9pm ET on WBAI 99.5 FM.
NOTE: Unfortunately, we are going to have to postpone the NYRSF Reading with Sheree Renee Thomas that was to take place on on Wednesday, July 5th at 7pm ET, When I can, I'll post the new date - sorry!
I've spent the last two or more weeks working on a project called Smart Home Week, where we have a bunch of articles on -- you guessed it -- smart homes. So the first of ten articles just hit. Taking a deep breath.... https://www.theverge.com/23749376/smart-home-explained-voice-assistant-tv-gadgets
