Abhinav@bahujans_unite swachh bharat abhiyan is actually designed just for this. It takes our attention away from the manual scavengers and rag pickers. Similarly govt does say how all the toilets it has built will be cleaned with any sewage system. It just pushes them to do these inhuman jobs while being a PR for the supreme leader.
It has been said enough that manual scavenging is a social problem, more than a technological one. Even if devices are invented, who will operate it? The caste society condemns certain communities to certain jobs forever. No amount of technological advances will solve that.
One doesn't need to be "woke" to know all this. All you need is basic empathy and awareness of the society. But, how can we expect a Brahmin dude to show the bare minimum sensitivity to caste issues?
So, you only want devices to "aid these heroes". You are comfortable with providing equipment to make their job easier, but God forbid, these "heroes" must not abandon the practice of cleaning sewers, right?
The reason this Tambrahm guy is shamelessly calling the victim a "hero" is because he thinks such a job is inevitable; someone HAS to do it. His Brahmin conditioning will never allow him to think "Why must such a job exist? Why do only certain communities do it?"

Certainly whatever extra revenue govt will earn from phenomenal fee hike in JNU is not going to fill fiscal deficit of the government. Clearly the agenda of the Modi govt to exclude students from marginal sections of society from quality higher education. #JNU has a fairly inclusive admission policy and students from cross section of society, including 60% women study there. Why a manuwadi govt will let this happen.
In big cities like Chennai, after destroying the huts of poor Dalit people and leaving them stranded with no home, the government takes pity on them and awards alternate land (read:displaces them) as a form of charity.
Along the same lines, the Supreme Court has awarded alternate land to Muslims after their place of worship (Babri Masjid) was demolished. Only pity has been demonstrated here, there has been no attempt to uphold/establish justice.

See, the Twitter account called @VakMedia is urging the Home minister of India for banning the #Mastodon.social in India for it included the "casteism & provocation of casteism" in its code of conduct.
Ironically, the very act of urging the Home minister (regarding this) is itself a driven by the casteist sentiment. But, that self-reflexive capacity is not available to @VakMedia since he enjoys the privilege of his caste thus its social domination

*'Pariah' is a slur, a violent slur that no one is even reclaiming, so why are people using it casually? Yes, English language is full of colonisation & the worship of other colonisations so it turned an insult towards a group to a 'word'.
