@andres1gb I have used 10-year-old Tri-X that was kept in a drawer at room temperature and it was fine.
Your extra exposure is probably a good idea, but I would reduce the development time a little, just to be safe. How much? Who knows? 10%?, 20%? Try it and see.
When I started developing my own film, every article I read told me to cut off the corners of the film to make it easier to load onto the reels.
Well recently I haven’t bothered and it makes no difference as far as I can tell.
So stop wasting your time folks. It really doesn’t matter.
(That’s with 35mm. I haven’t tried it with 120)
