Kind of a web guy in Guelph, Ontario.
Am I supposed to be angry about this? (The fine was reduced to $6K.) I'm a homeowner, and I know that certain trees on my property are managed by my municipality. It's been the case everywhere I've lived. https://boingboing.net/2026/04/02/san-francisco-homeowner-fined-50k-for-trimming-street-trees.html
Canada Geese can fly. And yet they choose to slowly waddle across streets. I believe this is because they're jerks.

What if Bit has discovered “yo mama” jokes.

Cities can now achieve “what was once thought impossible”: cutting air pollution by 20–45% in little more than a decade. A new analysis has found that 19 cities, including London, San Francisco and Beijing, cut levels of both PM2.5 and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) by more than 20% since 2010, driven by measures such as cycle lanes, electric vehicles and restrictions on polluting traffic. Some of the absolute best Mac skins.

@siracusa @hotdogsladies I'm a little behind on Reconcilable Differences, but after listening to #282, I had to share this image.
I’m not sure that you can say “this recipe needs a cabbage you can only find in Korea” is a “fridge raid”.
You will pry my em dashes from my cold — and dead — hands. I had them before AI was conceived and I’ll have them long after it’s gone.

I have been using this for streaming SomaFM instead of the MiniPlayer. It actually uses *more* resources, but it’s just so fun.

This isn't your normal "looking for work" post.

I've decided to shut my business and do more volunteer / community work.

If you know of an organisation which could use a board member with strong digital skills, extensive experience in open source and open standards, or cybersecurity please let me know.

Nothing full time. Personal recommendations preferred. Feel free to share.
