A ★★ review of Drop (2025)

Drop might be the first movie this year that I would have walked out of if I had seen it in the theater. This plot is so unnecessarily convoluted and full of convenience that it’s downright nauseating. Beyond all that, it’s just an unoriginal take on an original idea.

A ★★★ review of Death of a Unicorn (2025)

I’m a bit conflicted on this one. I didn’t have super high hopes other than a funny horror comedy, but Death of a Unicorn seems to do nothing particularly well. Most of the cast (minus Will Poulter) feel either miscast or in an entirely different movie. I would love to see that version of Death of a Unicorn, as this version seems to be as bland as possible. This film has nothing to say or do with its premise outside the logline. Nevertheless, it kept me engaged for the whole film, which is more than I can say for most.
