I'm @auino [at] mastodon.uno, just logging a nerd experiment I’m doing during my spare time... and yes, my avatar is an AI adjustement of my original (real) picture.

@SalemsLot FYI, I also discovered that #PowerPoint in #WinBoat is not working properly when a second screen is used...
@SalemsLot FYI, #OnlyOffice just messed up in a #MicrosoftWord document I was working on, by replacing part of the modified content (deleted texts was mixed with new texts) and by destroying document formatting. That's not good at all!
@SalemsLot FYI, I also found that #OnlyOffice (a native #Linux application) is a potentially interesting solution with "good" support to #MicrosoftOffice documents.
If you also love the "preview files with a single space" features of #macOS, you can install gnome-sushi and unoconv on #Linux to have a similar behavior.
Trying to play with #Evolution #tasks and #Ubuntu... here's a simple #Python script to create tasks: using the Task Widget at https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/3569/task-widget/ it's possible to show tasks in the top menu bar of Ubuntu.
@SalemsLot well, it should be not just on single file format, but also on an interoperable open communication protocol for managing shared files, independently on the used application.
@SalemsLot in my case, I often need to work on shared documents in parallel with other colleagues. I tested open alternatives in the past, but none was providing a good experience when sharing documents with MS users.
@SalemsLot Tested and it is working: I now can open #MicrosoftWord and other #Office365 apps from #Ubuntu, like if it's a native software (although using a #Docker container running #Windows)... interesting solution, thanks again.
I'm quite disappointed about #UbuntuTouch: it seems just an experiment for #geeks, with #GPS issues, no #OAuth2, using #Android emulation to fix its lacks... it's like a smartphone used as a #dumbphone... good to play, learn and detox from #smartphones, but nothing more. I hope someone proves me I'm wrong.
@SalemsLot Thanks, I'll try that, although, essentially, it's a VM running Windows...
