📅 9 years ago today, Thimbleweed Park was released!

💾 This classic game by Ron Gilbert & Gary Winnick was released on March 30th, 2017!

@konstantinosd As I've mentioned before, you might want to check out Powers of Darkness, back-translated into English by Rickard Berghorn: an incomplete early draft of Dracula by Stoker that made its way to Sweden, and was translated & given a new ending by some newspaper editors there!

Even given that Stoker didn't finish it and the Swedish editors' added ending is rather abrupt (though admittedly it's not clear precisely where the dividing line is) it's twice as long as the published novel.

@konstantinosd Two chapters were cut from the start of the text, chronicling the earlier stages of Jonathan's journey in Munich & Vienna. The text is lost, but we know the synopsis from some of Stoker's notes and Dracula's Guest.

Notably, in Munich, along with seeing a performance of Wagner's The Flying Dutchman, Jonathan Harker visited the city morgue, which was then a public attraction - and saw the living face of Dracula, pretending to be dead and observing his future guest from a bier!

Read Dracula's Guest by Bram Stoker --the existence of which I only discovered yesterday-- and was deeply impressed. I now want to re-read Dracula.
@konstantinosd Dracula's Guest was part of the deleted opening sections of the novel at one point. According to deleted text in the surviving manuscript, the "Countess Dolingen" of the short story was actually the blonde Bride Jonathan Harker meets in Dracula's castle later!

The official White House Android app has a cookie/paywall bypass injector, tracks your GPS every 4.5 minutes, and loads JavaScript from some guy's GitHub Pages.

📅 Happy 24th anniversary to Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast!

💾 Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast was released on March 28th, 2002

Perhaps I am some kind of dangerous computer radical these days, thinking that one should be able to buy or make a computer, install one's choice of OSs and software, create a local user account, and get on with one's affairs, privately and without interference.

Quiet enjoyment of one's computer.

* No age or ID verification

* No jumping through hoops to install software, or third parties restricting the software that one can run

* No third party accounts

There’s a beautiful, strange allure to the colour purple. It feels occult to me, otherworldly. Gilt features the colour in many small ways.

GOG is having its Spring Sale, and I simply had to grab several (mostly old) games including:

• Jupiter Hell
• Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration
• Timequest
• Nox Archaist
• Rise of the Dragon
• Timequest (pictured)
• EPIC + Inferno
• Time Gate: Knight's Chase
