It's the fact that the video moves on you that is so distressing. moves as in shrinks. You can kinda do what you want to pause something. But it's not any better than before. I'd argue it's worse. Especially if you were depending on the video to be full screen. Monday is going to be a shock all around for the general public with the new Photos app. Some cool things about it, but... Video playback in the #PhotosApp on #iOS18 is just a nightmare now if you want to pause something. and especially not optimal if you do so in landscape. Try pausing to see something while using landscape with expectation of pausing while full screen. you cannot do it. it shrinks the video down before you can even pause. Who thought this was a good #UX? Or am I just missing something. #Apple #Photos #Video
Did Apple just drop reading skills from the prerequisites for App Store reviewers? Because it sure seems like it. They send the same response over and over like they didn't even read what you replied with. Worse, no one seems to respond for escalating anymore. It's always been a delicate balance of users vs. shareholders. That balance is definitely tipping in the wrong direction for users. And too far in the wrong direction for Apple too. Services and regulatory action will be the death of Apple. And all the greedy shareholders will cut and run (or arguably, already have).

@rasmusnielsen I like the one on the left as it shows a bit more of the art. But the one on the right looks better as it doesn't feel so cramped compared to the starting state.
